The role of the Arts Administrator is to bring artists and their audiences together, to support and generate artistic activity, and income generation. They act as a facilitator for the promotion, exhibition and preservation of cultural forms amongst which may be included performing, visual and heritage arts. Within small organisations an administrator may also be responsible for marketing and bookings to finance and insurance matters.

Phillip Tolley has been a member of Equity (formerly British Actors Equity) for over 10 years and is also a member of the Arts Management Association.

Through British Choirs on the Net, he is member of the Association of British Choral Directors, International Federation of Choral Music and TONSIL.

Skills include;

·         Marketing a performance or events through direct mail to a targeted audience, advertising, or generating interest through press releases and TV/Radio.

·         Undertaking reviews of venues, audience development, disability awareness, etc

·         Managing specific projects, exhibitions, new build, restoration

·         Fund Raising

·          Artist Management and Hospitality
